Job summary

Kingsley Healthcare seeks a Chef to plan and provide daily nutritious meals for residents, while ensuring food quality, safety, and budget compliance. The role requires leadership to train kitchen staff and collaboration with the Home Manager to sustain high dining standards.

You will contribute to a caring environment, develop menus, and manage daily kitchen operations, including ordering and stock control.

Qualifications

• Experience as a chef, preferably in healthcare or hospitality.
• Knowledge of nutrition and menu development.
• Ability to manage time and work under pressure.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
• Ability to train and supervise kitchen staff.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends/holidays.

Responsibilities

• Plan and prepare daily menus that meet the nutritional needs of residents.
• Prepare meals that are appetising, visually appealing, and within budget.
• Monitor food stocks and order supplies as needed.
• Maintain accurate records of food orders and inventory.
• Ensure food is stored, prepared, and served safely and hygienically.
• Train and supervise kitchen staff in food preparation and service.
• Implement health and safety procedures, including proper food handling and storage.
• Keep the kitchen clean and organized, including regular deep cleaning.
• Attend and participate in staff meetings and training sessions as required.
• Build positive relationships with residents and their families, and respond to feedback.
