Job summary

Orchard Care Homes is seeking a dedicated Chef/Cook for Ashlea Lodge Care Home in Sunderland. The role covers 28.5 hours per week at £14.83 per hour, supporting the Home Manager and care staff to prepare nutritious meals that meet individual needs.

You will supervise a kitchen team, handle food orders and stock, and ensure food safety and HACCP guidelines are followed to deliver high-quality meals for residents.

Qualifications

• Experience as a chef/cook in a care setting is preferred.
• Knowledge of HACCP, health and safety, and COSHH is important.
• Ability to plan, prepare and cook nutritious meals to individual needs.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and cook a variety of meals that are nutritious and cater to individual preferences and dietary requirements.
• Supervise a kitchen team, manage food orders and stock levels, and maintain equipment.
• Ensure cleaning schedules and food safety guidelines are followed to keep the kitchen compliant.
