Job summary

KPI Recruiting Ltd is seeking a Care Home Chef for a client in Redhill. You will plan, prepare, cook and present balanced meals for residents, catering for dietary requirements and ensuring meals are nutritious and appealing.

The role involves varied start and finish times across 5 days a week and an on-site kitchen environment. You will maintain food hygiene standards in line with HACCP, carry out temperature checks, and keep clear kitchen records.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Chef, Cook, or Catering Professional.
• Knowledge of food hygiene regulations and food safety standards.
• Experience preparing meals for large groups.
• Understanding of nutritional requirements for older people.
• Ability to cater for specialist dietary needs and allergies.
• Enhanced DBS.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, cook, and present balanced, nutritious meals for residents.
• Produce meals for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks in accordance with service schedules.
• Cater for special dietary requirements and allergies.
• Ensure meals are appealing, varied and tailored to residents' preferences.
• Monitor food quality and presentation standards at all times.
• Maintain the highest standards of food hygiene and cleanliness.
• Ensure compliance with HACCP, Food Safety legislation and Environmental Health requirements.
• Carry out daily temperature checks and maintain kitchen records.

KPI Recruiting are on the look out for a Care Home Chef for our client based in Redhill.

The hours and days as a Care Home Chef are:

• 5 out of 7 days per week
• Varied start and finish times (average 8 hours per day)

The rate of pay as a Care Home Chef is:

• £20.00- £24.00 p/h

Key Responsibilities as a Care Home Chef:

Food Preparation & Service:

• Plan, prepare, cook, and present balanced, nutritious meals for residents
• Produce breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks in accordance with service schedules
• Cater for special dietary requirements, including diabetic, vegetarian, vegan, allergy-sensitive, texture-modified, and therapeutic diets
• Ensure meals are appealing, varied, and tailored to residents' preferences where possible
• Monitor food quality and presentation standards at all times

Compliance & Food Safety:

• Maintain the highest standards of food hygiene and cleanliness
• Ensure compliance with Food Safety legislation, HACCP procedures, and Environmental Health requirements
• Carry out and record daily temperature checks for food storage and cooking
• Maintain accurate kitchen records and documentation
• Ensure safe storage of food products and chemicals
• Follow all company policies relating to health and safety, infection control, and safeguarding

Essential Requirements needed as a Care Home Chef:

• Previous experience as a Chef, Cook, or Catering Professional
