Job summary

Westmorland Homecare in Kendal is seeking a Care Coordinator to support recruitment and community care services from our Kendal office. The role is Monday to Friday with on-call duties; a driver is essential for travel to events and client sites.

The position offers £29,000 per year, permanent, full-time, with benefits including wellness programs and staff social events. You will work closely with clients, Home Care Assistants and healthcare professionals to provide compassionate homecare.

Responsibilities

• Answer incoming calls in a positive, professional manner.
• Lead recruitment strategy from enquiry to onboarding, including references and DBS checks.
• Manage recruitment advertising across job boards, social media and print publications.
• Plan and attend recruitment fairs and community events.
• Design creative recruitment campaigns to attract high-quality applicants.
• Support candidates through the recruitment process.
• Ensure candidate files are complete and compliant, with regular audits.
• Participate in the on-call rota outside office hours.
• Perform other duties as needed to meet business needs.

Being a Care Coordinator with Westmorland Homecare is a very special job. You will have the chance to make a difference to people’s lives within your community, building significant professional relationships with clients, Home Care Assistants and healthcare professionals. The role is based in our Kendal office on Highgate, Monday to Friday, 8am‑4pm and 9am‑5pm. A driver is essential for the role, and you will also be part of the on‑call rota which involves taking the on‑call phone home on some evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Answering incoming calls in a positive, happy, and professional manner, making clients, staff, and potential candidates feel special and important
• Overall management and implementation of the recruitment strategy and process from enquiry to onboarding, ensuring all applicants have full satisfactory references and DBS checks in a timely manner
• Managing recruitment advertising across job boards, social media, and printed publications alongside our social media manager
• Sourcing, planning and attending recruitment fairs, market stalls, and community outreach events
• Being creative with recruitment campaigns and initiatives and thinking of ways outside the box to attract high quality applicants
• Supporting and nurturing desirable candidates through the recruitment process
• Ensuring new candidate personnel files are complete and compliant, including performing 6‑monthly audits to this effect
• Participating in a share of the on‑call rota out of hours
• Any other activities that may be necessary to meet the needs of the business

Requirements

• Proactive and innovative approach to recruitment in the Health and Social Care sector
• Comfortable delivering hands‑on care if required
• Good level of computer / IT proficiency
• Passion to help others, care for people and do something good for the community
• Understanding of safeguarding procedures and protecting clients from harm or abuse
• Good understanding of moving and handling procedures and various types of equipment
• Driver with access to a vehicle
• Caring and kind with a strong ability to connect with people and build relationships is important
