Job summary

Brighter Days Care at Home is seeking a dedicated Care Coordinator in Durrington to organise rosters for domiciliary and live-in care services. You will ensure staff coverage, coordinate service users with carers, and support continuous improvement in line with CQC standards.

The role requires care sector experience, rostering expertise, and strong planning abilities, with full UK driving licence and right to work in the UK. DBS clearance is required.

About The Role

Salary: £28,000 per annum Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday Holiday: 28 days’ annual leave, inclusive of bank holidays Contract: Full-time, permanent

Brighter Days Care at Home is looking for an organised, proactive and experienced Care Coordinator to join our team in Durrington, Salisbury.

You will be responsible for coordinating care and producing effective staff rosters for service users across our domiciliary care and live-in care services, as well as any future supported living contracts. The role is central to ensuring that care visits and placements are appropriately staffed and that service users receive consistent, high-quality care.

This is a busy and varied position requiring excellent planning skills, attention to detail and the ability to respond calmly and professionally when priorities change.

Key responsibilities
  • Producing accurate and efficient care rotas for service users, Care and Support Workers and Live-in Carers.
  • Matching carers to service users based on their needs, skills, suitability, availability and geographical location.
  • Ensuring all care visits and live-in placements are fully covered.
  • Managing staffing resources efficiently, taking account of travel, mileage, annual leave, sickness and continuity of care.
  • Adding new and departing service users to the rostering system and ensuring relevant teams are fully briefed.
  • Communicating with service users, families, carers and other relevant parties regarding care arrangements.
  • Supporting the Branch Manager with recruitment, induction and the growth of the service.
  • Maintaining accurate records, documentation and electronic systems.
  • Responding professionally to concerns and escalating issues where appropriate.
  • Monitoring service delivery and supporting continuous improvement and compliance with CQC standards.
  • Participating in the out-of-hours rota.
  • Providing occasional care-call cover as a last resort when required.

The role also includes supporting live-in care placements, including handovers, service observations, carer profiles, communication and placement logistics.

About you

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Relevant experience working within the care sector.
  • Previous care coordination or rostering experience, ideally within domiciliary or live-in care.
  • Strong organisational, planning and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Confident communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively under pressure.
  • Good IT skills and experience using electronic rostering or care-management systems.
  • A professional, supportive and service-user-focused approach.
  • Knowledge of CQC requirements and good practice within home care.
  • A full UK driving licence and access to reliable transport.
  • Full right to work in the UK
  • a CLEAR enhanced DBS Check

An NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care, or an equivalent qualification, is desirable but not essential.
