Job summary

Cera is seeking a Care Assistant to join our team covering Portsmouth & Havant. You'll support people recently discharged from hospital to recover at home, helping them live independently.

You'll work flexible shifts, some weekends, with a block hourly rate that includes travel time and visits. A driving licence and access to a vehicle are required.

• Experience in care and ideally a Health & Social Care NVQ or willingness to work towards one.
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients, families and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Assist with personal care including continence support, washing and dressing.
• Manage medications and meal preparation; assist with domestic tasks as needed.
• Provide companionship, reassurance and engagement to improve quality of life.
• Support individuals who recently left hospital to recover at home.
• Follow care plans and document activities accurately.

In this role you will support people who have recently left hospital following surgery or illness that require additional support whilst they recover. This is a vital care service that means people can leave hospital sooner and reduces pressure on the NHS.

We have work available across the area including Portsmouth, Havant, Hayling, Waterlooville, Emsworth, Petersfield, Gosport, Fareham, Cosham, Portchester, Tichfield, Whitley, Hedgeend and Wickham.

More about this role:

• For this role, you require previous experience in Care and either hold a Health & Social Care relevant NVQ or be willing to work towards one.
• A variety of shift patterns are available and this role is paid as a block hourly rate, covering travel time and care visits.
• We have part-time and full-time roles available, some weekend work will be required.
• For this role you require a driving licence and access to a vehicle for work.
