Job summary

Brendoncare Foundation are inviting applications for Care Assistants to join Brendoncare Knightwood, a 20-bed residential home delivering person-centred care in a warm, community setting. This is a 36-hour contract with £13.38 per hour, plus a 10% enhancement for night and weekend shifts. Benefits include a free meal on shift, paid breaks, a free initial DBS check and ongoing training. Qualifications

  • NVQ/QCF 2 in Health & Social Care is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Care experience is beneficial; training provided.
  • Good communication and reliability are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Providing personal care to clients which is person centred and respects individual choices
  • Providing additional care and support as required when a client is unwell or towards end of life
  • Acting as a Key-worker to a number of clients
  • Using personal knowledge and experience of working with those individuals to support the nurses in writing and reviewing care plans
  • Documenting care given, recording any changes and reporting these to the person in charge of the shift
  • Providing support and advice to residents’ families and friends, keeping them informed at an appropriate level with due regard to the adherence of confidentiality
  • Working with the Activities Team to develop group and 1:1 activities that will be engaging and of interest to the residents
  • Liaising with other agencies as required in the interests of the resident for example; GP, Social Services, Occupational Therapist, etc.

We also have apartments which receive extra careto enable the courtiers to live as independently as possible for as long as possible. We’d love you to be NVQ/QCF 2 qualified in Health & Social Care, but that is not a deal breaker. Ideally you will have had some care experience but this is not essential as we provide lots of training. The key to us is that you share our values.

What will I be doing?
