Job summary

Brendoncare St Giles View in Winchester is seeking Care Assistants to join our team on day shifts at our new 60-bed home. We offer 24- and 36-hour contracts, a supportive environment and the chance to provide person-centred care to residents.

NVQ/QCF 2 in Health & Social Care is preferred, but training is provided. Benefits include paid breaks, a free meal on shift and a free DBS check for staff.

The Brendoncare Foundationare delighted to be looking for Care Assistants to join our team at ournew 60 bed care home.

Brendoncare St Giles Viewis amodern development in our home city of Winchester, which provides 60 purpose built en-suite residential, nursing and dementia bedrooms. Leisure facilities include a café/restaurant, hair and beauty salon and community spaces. This homehas landscaped gardens and enjoys stunning views of the South Downs.

We’d love you to be NVQ/QCF 2 qualified in Health & Social Care or have had some care experience but this is not essential as we provide lots of training. The key to us is that you share our values of kindness, dedication, empowerment and forward-thinking.

What will I be doing?

• Providing personal care to clients which is person centred and respects individual choices
• Providing additional care and support as required when a client is unwell or towards end of lifeli>
• Acting as a Key-worker to a number of clients
• Using personal knowledge and experience of working with those individuals to support the nurses in writing and reviewing care plans
• Documenting care given, recording any changes and reporting these to the person in charge of the shift
• Providing support and advice to residents’ families and friends, keeping them informed at an appropriate level with due regard to the adherence of confidentiality
• Working with the Activities Team to develop group and 1:1 activities that will be engaging and of interest to the residents
• Liaising with other agencies as required in the interests of the resident for example; GP, Social Services, Occupational Therapist, etc.
