Job summary

Orchard Care Homes is looking for a Care Assistant at Ashlea Lodge Care Home on Hylton Road, Sunderland. You’ll support residents with daily living, treating them with dignity, respect, and kindness as part of a dedicated care team.

This role offers flexible hours (days, full or part time) from 22 to 44 hours per week, with a generous hourly rate of £12.71–£12.96. Training, development, DBS check, and a supportive, rewarding environment are provided.

Qualifications

• Experience in care or support roles is desirable.
• Ability to communicate with residents with dignity and respect.
• Commitment to person-centred support and safeguarding.

Responsibilities

• Support residents with daily living activities such as washing, dressing and personal care.
• Assist residents in activities and appointments while promoting independence.
• Serve meals and maintain a clean, welcoming environment.
• Observe and report changes in health or wellbeing to the team.
• Act as a key worker for a group of residents and support new staff.
