Job summary

Bluebird Care Cardiff and the Vale is seeking a caring Care Assistant to join our team. You will help customers in their own homes with daily living, working independently or with a supportive team to provide high-quality care.

We offer expert training, paid hours, shadowing shifts, and flexible patterns. DBS checks and references are completed per government regulations; progression opportunities are available within a caring, supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in care or willingness to complete training is beneficial.
• Ability to work in customers' homes and follow care plans.
• Good communication and compassionate approach to care.

Responsibilities

• Provide essential personal care and companionship.
• Assist with meal preparation, shopping, and household tasks.
• Support with medication management.
• Encourage independence to help customers stay in their own homes.
• Attend paid hours for e-learning and paid shadowing shifts.

Responsibilities

As a Care Assistant, your key responsibilities will include:

• Providing essential personal care and companionship
• Assisting with meal prep, shopping, and household tasks
• Supporting with medication management
• Encouraging independence to help customers stay in their own homes
• A set amount of PAID hours for E-Learning
• PAID shadowing shifts
• Guaranteed Hours Contracts available after probation

Competitive Pay:

• £13.45 per hour
• £20.00 per hour Christmas day, Boxing Day and New years day

Requirements

• A Full UK driving licence and access to a car
• To be living in the local area
• The ability to work alternate weekends
• To commit to working a minimum of one evening shift per week
• A kind, compassionate attitude and a calm approach to care
• Great communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships
• Ability to follow care plans
• Previous care experience is beneficial but not a necessity as full training will be provided.
• ABI experience is also desirable, but not essential.
