Job summary

Empowering U Healthcare is recruiting Healthcare Assistants to support children and adults with complex needs in Birmingham. Roles include 10:00am–8:00pm, with 2:1 support and flexible full/part-time opportunities. Salary is £12.71–£14.87 per hour, with nurse-led training and career progression.

Qualifications

• 6+ months care experience (essential).
• Knowledge of epilepsy and challenging behaviour (preferred).
• Full UK driving license and access to a vehicle (preferred).
• Strong verbal and written English skills.
• Ability to work both independently and in a team.
• Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).

Responsibilities

• Personal care with dignity and respect.
• Medication administration (including PEG/NG where trained).
• Tracheostomy care and suctioning (where applicable).
• Manual handling and safe transfers.
• Behaviour support and de-escalation.
• Monitoring and reporting health changes.
• Providing emotional support and companionship.
• Deliver compassionate, person-centred care in line with care plans.
