Job summary

Empowering U is seeking dedicated Healthcare Assistants to support children and adults with complex needs in Derby. Roles include day, night, and bank shifts across a person-centred care program.

You will deliver compassionate care, assist with personal needs, mobility and daily activities, and maintain documentation. DBS check and driving licence preferred; team-based environment with ongoing training.

Qualifications

• At least 6 months of care experience in the UK.
• Experience working with children or individuals with complex needs (desirable, not essential).
• A compassionate, patient, and dependable approach.
• Strong verbal and written English skills.
• Ability to work both independently and within a team.
• Basic IT skills for completing documentation.
• Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (preferred).

• Deliver compassionate, person-centred care in line with care plans
• Assist with personal care, mobility, nutrition, and daily activities
• Promote independence, dignity, and emotional wellbeing
• Maintain accurate care documentation
• Build trusting relationships with clients and families
• Follow all health & safety regulations and company policies
• Personal care and daily living support
• PEG medication, suctioning, and manual handling
• Mobility and repositioning
• Monitoring and reporting health changes
• Emotional support and companionship
