Job summary

Porthaven Care Homes is seeking a dedicated Care Assistant at Prestbury House in Macclesfield. You will support residents daily, helping with personal care, meals, and engaging social activities, in a warm, respectful environment.

Full-time opportunities include 24, 36 or 48 hour contracts with night shifts (8pm–8am) and occasional weekend work. DBS check and UK work authorization are required; training is provided by our Learning & Development team.

Qualifications

• Experience in care not required but welcome; willingness to learn.
• DBS check and UK work authorization required.

Responsibilities

• Respect residents as individuals and tailor care to their needs.
• Assist with daily living activities including washing, toileting, dressing and grooming.
• Promote dignity and independence through person-centred care.
• Support residents during mealtimes and ensure access to meals and drinks.
• Build relationships with residents and families with kindness and empathy

Daily responsibilities in this role include:

• Respect each resident as an individual, tailoring care to their personal needs and preferences according to their care plan.
• Support residents with daily living activities including; washing, toileting, dressing and grooming.
• Promote choice, dignity, and independence through person-centred care.
• Support residents during mealtimes and ensure they have access to food and refreshments whenever they wish
• Build meaningful relationships with residents and their families through kindness, empathy, and compassion with residents.
