Job summary

Job description

This Care Assistant role sits at Guildford House Care Home, one of the homes run by Avery Healthcare Group for older residents. The work centres on hands‑on personal care, including hygiene support that keeps residents as independent and dignified as possible, and spotting early signs of risk such as falls, pressure sores and infection. No prior care experience is needed, as a full induction and training programme is provided.

What the job involves

• Deliver high standards of personal care and contribute fully to the care team to keep services continuous
• Assist residents with all aspects of personal hygiene, protecting their independence, dignity and respect
• Recognise clinical risk areas such as weight loss, pressure sores, risk of falls and signs of infection, and ***escalate them promptly***
• Act courteously towards residents and visitors, respecting each resident's dignity and individuality
• Work safely using safe systems of work across the full range of tasks

Skills & knowledge

• Effective verbal and written communication
• Initiative, and respectful conduct towards residents and others in the home
• Following reasonable instructions from team members while working efficiently
• Flexibility to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice
