Job description

This Care Assistant post sits within the care team at Seagrave House Care Home, one of the homes run by Avery Healthcare Group. The core of the work is delivering personal care, including hygiene support that keeps residents independent and dignified, and spotting and escalating clinical risks such as falls, pressure sores and infection. No experience is needed, as a full induction and training programme is provided. Proof of right to work in the UK is required.

What the job involves

• Deliver high standards of personal care and contribute to the care team to ensure continuity of services to residents
• Assist residents with all personal hygiene care, supporting their independence, dignity and respect
• Recognise and understand clinical risk areas such as weight loss, pressure sores, falls and signs of infection, and escalates identified risks promptly
• Act courteously towards residents and visitors, respecting each resident's dignity and individuality
• Practise safe systems of work across the range of tasks

Skills & knowledge

• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
• Initiative, and respect towards residents and other people in the home
• Efficient worker who can carry out reasonable instructions from team members
• Adaptable and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice
