Job summary

Avery Healthcare Group in Rugby is seeking a Senior Care Assistant to help deliver high standards of personal care within a warm, inclusive environment for residents, visitors and staff. You will work alongside the Care team to monitor wellbeing, update care plans, support medication needs, and contribute to monthly evaluations, with a focus on compassionate, person-centred care.

  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in care for care homes.
  • At least 2 years' experience in a similar care environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor residents' wellbeing and update care plans as needs change.
  • Contribute to person-centred care planning and monthly evaluations.
  • Support residents with medication administration as required.
  • Conduct staff supervisions and support team development.
  • Serve as a primary contact for residents, relatives and health professionals, addressing requests and escalation of concerns.

Job description

Your focus as a Senior Care Assistant will be to support and work alongside the Care team to deliver high standards of personal care, providing a safe, caring, innovative, open, supportive, and inclusive environment for residents, visitors and staff. Other responsibilities will include:



  • Monitoring the wellbeing of each resident, being aware of any change impacting on care and care plans, ensuring that new needs are met, and written records are amended to reflect any variation.

  • Being involved in the person-centred care planning process, by implementing, monitoring, and undertaking monthly evaluations.

  • Supporting residents with their medication requirements.

  • Undertaking staff supervisions and supporting staff with their development where required.

  • Acting as a key point for contact with residents, their relatives and visitors, as well as health and social care professionals involved in their wellbeing, ensuring that any reasonable requests are acted upon, and concerns or complaints are escalated.

  • A DBS Disclosure check, the cost of which will be met by Avery Healthcare.

  • Proof of eligibility to work in the UK.

  • Have an NVQ 3 or equivalent in care for care homes.

  • Have 2 years' experience working in similar care environment.

  • Have the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

  • Be responsive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities.
