Job summary

Bath & North East Somerset Council is seeking Extra Care Support Workers to be based at Hawthorn Court in Keynsham. Roles involve caring for tenants in an Extra Care setting, with shifts including mornings and evenings, and optional weekend work with enhancements.

Two roles are available: 21 hours per week (08:00-14:30) and 21.87 hours per week (07:30-14:00 and 14:30-21:30). A 5% welcome payment may apply after probation and eligibility criteria are met.

Qualifications

• Previous experience of working in care would be an advantage, but a commitment to deliver quality care is essential.

• Assist tenants with personal care activities such as washing, personal hygiene and dressing.
• Promote tenants' independence, choice, dignity, and respect by delivering the best standards of care.
• Adhere to and complete accurate and timely records of the care and support provided to tenants.
• Provide support to access third party and NHS services.
• Be a strong team player and work on own initiative when needed.
• Promote lifestyle choice, offering individuals the opportunity and motivation to retain independence and stay in control of their lives.

About The Role

We are looking for Extra Care Care Assistants to be based in one of our Extra Care Services at Hawthorn Court.

There Are Two Roles Available

• 21 hours per week and involves a rota system which will involve working from 08:00-14:30.
• 21.87 hours per week and involves a rota system which will involve working morning and late shifts from 07:30-14:00 and 14:30-21:30.

For both roles you also will be working every other weekend with some bank holidays for which enhancements are paid.

The Hawthorn Court offers a vibrant community atmosphere which is in Keynsham, and this is easily accessible via public transport or car.

What is Extra Care?

Extra Care Housing is for adults, who have some care needs, with an assured tenancy in a self-contained flat in a purpose-built or adapted scheme. Our Extra care housing services have been rated ‘Good’ by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) in June 2022.

As An Extra Care Support Worker, You Will
