Job summary

Bath & North East Somerset Council is looking for an Extra Care Support Worker for The Orchard in Bath on a permanent part-time contract. The role is 21 hours per week, working 07.30-14.00 with a rota that includes every other weekend and some bank holidays with enhancements.

It involves personal care, safeguarding, and coordinating with NHS services in a vibrant community setting. The role requires caring commitment; prior care experience is helpful but full training is provided.

• Be a strong team player and work on own initiative when needed.
• Promote lifestyle choice, offering individuals the opportunity and motivation to retain independence and stay in control of their lives.

Job description

At Bath & North East Somerset Council we have one overriding purpose – to improve people’s lives.

This post attracts a welcome payment of 5% of the starting salary for the grade to enable individuals to join our permanent workforce. This is payable upon successful completion of your probationary period and is subject to eligibility criteria.

We are looking for an Extra Care Support Worker to be based in one of our Extra Care Services at The Orchard on a part time basis on permanent contract.

This role is for 21 hours per week working 07.30-14.00 and involves a rota system which includes working every other weekend with some bank holidays for which enhancements are paid.

The Orchard offers a vibrant community atmosphere which is in Combe Down, Bath and is easily accessible via public transport or car.

What is Extra Care?

Extra Care Housing is for adults, who have some care needs, with an assured tenancy in a self-contained flat in a purpose-built or adapted scheme. Our Extra care housing services have been rated ‘Good’ by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) in June 2022.

About the Role
