Agincare's The Coombs care home in Gloucestershire is hiring a Care Assistant. You’ll provide companionship, personal care, and support with daily living for residents, including meals and mobility assistance, in a warm, community-focused environment.

This full-time role offers a salary of £12.91 per hour, 36 hours per week with alternate weekends, and training up to QCF level 5. Agincare emphasizes development, pension, and flexible pay options, with a focus on compassionate, quality care.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 months right to work in the UK.
• 36 hours per week with alternate weekends.
• Must be flexible to 6-hour and 12-hour shifts.
• Experience in care is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Offer companionship and engagement with residents.
• Assist with personal care including washing, bathing, and dressing.
• Support with medications and topical creams under supervision.
• Provide healthy meals and beverages, and assist with eating.
• Perform light domestic tasks and housekeeping.
• Support mobility and independence where possible.
• Facilitate social activities and outings within the home.

What is required from you?

• A minimum of 12 months on your right to work in the UK
• There is 1 full time position available, working 36 hours per week, to include alternate weekends
• Must be flexible to work 6 hour and 12 hour shifts
• Experience in care is preferred

A day in the life of a Care Assistant

• Companionship - Providing support, companionship, communication and engagement
• Personal care - supporting with a wash bath or shower and supporting the client with dressing and oral care
• Medication - Prompting, assisting or administering medications and creams
• Meals – Supporting the client with healthy meals, snacks and beverages
• Domestic tasks - light cleaning tasks
• Mobility - Supporting the client to live as independently as possible with their mobility
• Social activities - Trips out, social engagements and activities within the home
