Job summary

Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in Chester is seeking a full-time Consultant Cardiologist to join its established team and lead in the continued development and expansion of the cardiology service. The department provides a comprehensive range of diagnostic and treatment facilities, including advanced imaging and a dedicated Cardiology Day Suite.

Qualifications

• Wide clinical experience in Cardiology and ability to teach and mentor trainees.
• Experience in clinical audit and quality improvement within a cardiology service.
• Interest in cardiac imaging, anatomical and functional assessment.
• Teaching skill or qualification to support professional development of staff.
• Participation in governance and multidisciplinary team activities.

Responsibilities

• Ward rounds for inpatients and daily inreach to AMU for cardiac patients.
• Review and advise on management of inpatients referred by other specialists.
• Oversee diagnostic imaging including CTCA, TOE and Stress Echo.
• Contribute to training of Core and Speciality Trainees and Foundation doctors.
• Engage in audit projects, CME and regular departmental meetings.
