Pulse Healthcare in the West Midlands is seeking a dynamic Consultant Cardiologist to join our expanding cardiology team. The post offers 10 PAs with flexibility for part-time applicants and a full-time pattern in a supportive environment.

The role includes involvement in developing state-of-the-art services, with future plans for a CMR service and a mix of inpatient and outpatient activity within a forward-thinking NHS-aligned department.

Qualifications

  • Full GMC registration and licence to practise with the General Medical Council (GMC).
  • CCT in Cardiology (or within 6 months of interview).
  • Fellowship of a Royal College (e.g., FRCP).

Responsibilities

  • Standard job plan includes 1 day/week dedicated to the new diagnostic centre.
  • 1 day/week for sub-specialty activity (e.g., stress echo, myoview).
  • 1 in 7 weeks as Cardiologist of the Week focusing on inpatient care, ED support, and weekend ward rounds.
  • Outpatient clinics: typically 11 follow-ups (telephone) or 3 new + 6 follow-ups (face-to-face).
  • On-call rota: 1 in 7 weekends (Fri–Sun) and fixed weekday on-call.

This Trust is seeking a dynamic and committed Consultant Cardiologist to join our expanding team of six cardiologists. Requirements
  • Full registration and licence to practise with the General Medical Council (GMC)
  • Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Cardiology (or within 6 months of interview)
  • Relevant postgraduate qualifications and Fellowship of a Royal College (e.g., FRCP)
Typical Job Plan

A standard job plan includes:

  • 1 day/week dedicated to the new diagnostic centre
  • 1 day/week for sub-specialty activity (e.g., stress echo, myoview, or other interests)
  • 1 in 7 weeks as “Cardiologist of the Week” – focused on inpatient care, ED support, and weekend ward rounds (Saturday and Sunday mornings)
  • Outpatient clinics: Typically 11 follow-ups (telephone) or 3 new + 6 follow-ups (face-to-face)
  • On-call rota: 1 in 7 weekends (Friday–Sunday) and fixed weekday on-call (not prospectively covered)
