Job summary

Blue Arrow in Cardiff is seeking a proactive Street Scene Enforcement Officer to maintain clean, safe public spaces and ensure compliance with environmental regulations. The role involves waste service compliance, recycling education, and enforcement actions within the local council framework.

You will conduct patrols, handle evidence, issue notices, and compile prosecutions when required, with a view to improving the local environment and community safety.

Qualifications

• Full, valid UK driving licence is essential.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Confidence dealing with members of the public in a professional and assertive manner.
• Ability to work independently and make decisions based on evidence.
• Strong investigative and problem-solving skills.
• Good record-keeping and report-writing abilities.
• Commitment to high environmental standards and supporting local communities.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Cardiff residents comply with waste service provisions.
• Educate to improve recycling performance and enforce accordingly.
• Investigate incorrect waste presentation and storage as per policy.
• Conduct LEQ patrols for offences (dog control, abandoned trolleys, littering).
• Decide on enforcement actions and issue notices; compile prosecutions when needed.
