Job summary

Blue Arrow in Cardiff is seeking a proactive Street Scene Enforcement Officer to maintain clean, safe public spaces and ensure compliance with environmental regulations. The role involves waste service compliance, recycling education, and enforcement actions within the local council framework.

You will conduct patrols, handle evidence, issue notices, and compile prosecutions when required, with a view to improving the local environment and community safety.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Cardiff residents comply with waste service provisions.

• Conduct LEQ patrols for offences (dog control, abandoned trolleys, littering).
• Decide on enforcement actions and issue notices; compile prosecutions when needed.

Job description

We are seeking a proactive and motivated Street Scene Enforcement Officer to help maintain clean, safe, and welcoming public spaces. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is passionate about improving the local environment and ensuring compliance with environmental legislation and local regulations.

Location: Cardiff

Salary: £14.57 Ph

Contract: x1 Sat-Mon, 6:00 - 15:45 x1 Tue-Fri, 6:00 - 15:45

Duties and Responsibilities

• To ensure that residents of Cardiff are compliant with waste service provisions.
• To encourage correct waste presentation and increase recycling performance through education and enforcement.
• To investigate incorrect presentation and storage waste as per County Council policy. Actively investigating instances of waste storage, incorrect presentation of waste and deposits of waste on the adopted highway
• Conduct LEQ patrols for offences of dog control orders, abandoned shopping trollies and littering.
• Make decisions on enforcement actions based on evidence, such as issuing Issue formal notices, fixed penalty notices and compiling prosecution cases against offenders and present evidence in court when necessary

The successful candidate will have:

• Previous experience in enforcement, environmental services, community safety, waste management, or a similar field is desirable but not essential.
