National Vehicle Distribution is recruiting for an HGV Driver to operate between the UK and Ireland. The role requires a Full HGV Class 1 licence, CPC, and Digital Tachograph, with the ability to handle overnight cab stays and maintain high safety standards.

The successful candidate will perform daily vehicle checks, ensure timely deliveries and collections, and adapt to changing routes while using mobile tech and digital tools. Training and development opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

• Full HGV Class 1 licence with CPC and Digital Tachograph.
• Experience driving HGV Class 1, Class 2, Plant, Bus, etc.
• Willingness to drive between the UK and Ireland.
• Experience sleeping in the cab overnight.
• Comfortable with mobile applications, scanners and email.

Responsabilités

• Follow planned routes to ensure timely service for customers.
• Sleep overnight in the vehicle en route to delivery points.
• Conduct daily vehicle checks for roadworthiness and compliance.
• Drive safely, adhering to current Road Transport Regulations.
• Safely load and unload vehicles at delivery/collection points.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and report issues promptly.
• Participate in ongoing training provided by the Company.
• Perform other duties as allocated by management.

Role Summary

The role involves the safe and efficient transportation of goods between the UK and Ireland, ensuring timely delivery and collection while maintaining the highest standards of safety, compliance, and customer service. The position requires a professional driver with a Full HGV Class 1 licence, valid CPC card, and Digital Tachograph, capable of managing overnight stays in the cab and adhering to all road transport and company regulations.

The successful candidate will conduct daily vehicle checks, complete required documentation accurately, and ensure vehicles are kept clean, roadworthy, and compliant with health and safety requirements. They will demonstrate flexibility, resilience, and problem-solving skills while adapting to changing routes or schedules as required.

Requirements

• Full HGV Class 1 Driving License, with full Digital Tachograph and valid CPC card.
• Previous professional driving experience (HGV Class 1, Class 2, Plant, Bus, etc.).
• Willingness to drive between the UK and Ireland.
• Experience sleeping in the cab overnight.
• Demonstrate flexibility, resilience, and a positive, 'can-do' attitude.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Understanding and compliance with all health and safety requirements.
• Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces.
• Good geographical knowledge of the UK.
• Proficiency with technological tools, including mobile applications, scanners, and email.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the vehicle’s cleanliness and report any problems immediately.
