Job summary

The Council is seeking a Capital Projects Manager to lead the day-to-day delivery of the Council's Capital Projects programme within the Corporate Services Directorate. The role focuses on delivering projects with value for money and aligns with the Council’s strategies and objectives.

The postholder will work closely with the Head of Capital Projects to drive a high performing culture, manage transformational change, and integrate new and current functions to optimise performance.

Job Summary
The Capital Projects Manager will be responsible for the effective day to day management of the delivery of the Council Capital Projects programme assigned to the Corporate Services Directorate and for and implementing the Council’s strategies, within their areas of responsibility. In this capacity, the postholder will provide effective management to their section(s) ensuring service excellence and value for money.
The postholder will support the Head of Capital Projects to create a high performing culture through their contribution to the development and delivery of the key objectives of the Directorate and Department. They will support transformational change within the Capital Projects Section ensuring and implementing integration of new and current functions and responsibilities.

Duration of Appointment
Permanent.

Work Pattern
36hrs Monday – Friday.

Whilst the Council are recruiting for a permanent Capital Projects Manager in Downpatrick, please note that a reserve list will be compiled for future permanent, temporary, full time and part time Capital Projects Manager positions at Council Offices in Downpatrick, Newry and other Council locations for a period of 12 months.

Salary
PO2 spinal point 31-34, £43,149 – £46,579 per annum based on a 36 hour week (pro rata to hours worked). Plus 19% employer pension contribution. It is Council policy to appoint at minimum salary scale point.
