Job summary

E3 Recruitment is seeking a Project Engineer in Derby to own capital projects across mechanical systems, site utilities and infrastructure.

Reporting to the CAPEX Leader, you will manage projects end-to-end—from concept and design through to installation and commissioning—while maintaining safety, quality and on-time delivery.

The role requires 5+ years in industrial/manufacturing environments with knowledge of steam systems, process pipework and CAD/SAP experience.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a Project Engineering role within industrial/manufacturing environments.
• Strong knowledge of steam systems and process pipework.
• Mechanical qualification or equivalent.
• Desirable ATEX environments and health and safety qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Support long-term CAPEX planning including project selection and prioritisation.
• Develop engineering solutions with key stakeholders.
• Produce cost estimates at early and detailed stages.
• Lead Management of Change processes.
• Manage contractor selection and vendor engagement.
• Oversee full project life cycle: design, construction, commissioning.
• Ensure safety, quality and delivery performance; maintain technical docs.
• Track budgets and report on financial performance.
