Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) is a distinctive, unique institution, rooted in the Liverpool City Region with a global presence. Our students and staff, past, present, and future, are central to our community and industry engagement. We are committed to working with the people of Liverpool to improve lives and support communities.
This is an exciting opportunity for a Campus Support Team Leader (Security) to join the Campus Support Team within Campus Services at LJMU. The team provides 24/7 security and out-of-hours services across various campus areas in Liverpool. Reporting to, and deputising for, the Campus Support Supervisor, you will lead one of four shifts of Campus Support Officers, operating on a 'continental' rotating 12-hour shift pattern to ensure a vibrant, safe, and secure campus environment.
Requirements include holding a full UK driving licence (maximum of 3 penalty points) and demonstrating flexibility to accommodate shift patterns and business needs.
Ideal candidates will have experience in customer-focused roles, preferably within facilities management or related services, and may have supervisory or line management experience. Experience in higher education security, incident management, or student services is advantageous. Above all, a proactive, flexible, and customer-oriented attitude is essential.
The role involves delivering proactive campus support focused on student wellbeing, incident response, and security, maintaining high service standards.
Due to the university's dispersed campuses, a full UK driving licence is required.
In return, LJMU offers an excellent benefits package including generous annual leave, pension scheme, development support, and family-friendly policies.
This is a key time to join LJMU as we implement the LJMU Strategy 2030, aiming to be an inclusive civic university transforming lives and futures by placing students at the heart of our activities.
If you believe you have the skills and experience to make a difference at LJMU, we look forward to your application.
LJMU is an equal opportunities employer and welcomes applicants from all backgrounds and communities. All appointments are made on merit.
