Job summary

University of Birmingham is seeking a Team Manager in Community Safety and Security to lead a team of Security Officers, ensuring 24/7 security provision across campus. You will act as Bronze Incident Commander during major events and coordinate with emergency services where required.

You will work under the Community Safety and Security Operations Manager, setting standards, coaching the team, and driving continuous improvement while prioritising staff wellbeing and inclusive practices.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership experience in a security environment.
• Strong knowledge of security standards and incident response.
• Experience managing security teams and coordinating with emergency services.

Responsibilities

• Lead Security Officers to deliver high standards of security and customer service.
• Own management of operational security incidents and coordinate with police and services.
• Ensure reporting and documentation of incidents, and maintain CCTV review processes.
• Support wellbeing and development of security staff and uphold Equality & Diversity policies.
