Job summary

University of Bristol’s Security Services team is looking for a Security and Campus Safety Officer. The role involves 24/7 operations including patrols, monitoring alarms, and operating a modern control room. You will engage with staff, students and visitors and promote safety across the campus.

Full training will be provided and a UK Driving Licence is essential. Desirable licences include SIA DS/SG, with additional training offered to obtain licencing as needed.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
• Experience in customer-facing role, ideally in security.
• Ability to dynamically risk assess any given situation.
• Accurate recording of incidents.

Responsibilities

• Foot and mobile security patrols across campus.
• Engage with staff, students and visitors in a professional manner.
• Monitor and respond to alarms and life-safety events.
• Operate a 24/7 Security Control Room.
• Provide emergency first responder services as needed.
• Enforce car parking regulations.
• Promote crime reduction and personal safety awareness.
• Liaise with Emergency services when required.
