Job summary

University of Bristol invites applications for a Security and Campus Safety Officer within the Security Services team. The role supports staff, students and visitors through patrols, monitoring alarms, and 24/7 control room operation.

Training will be provided to achieve licencing and enhance safety across the campus. We seek calm, professional individuals with strong communication and incident-recording skills, and a commitment to campus safety.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in a customer-facing role, ideally in security.
• Ability to dynamically risk assess any given situation.
• Accurate recording of incidents.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• SIA Door Supervision (DS) or Security Guarding (SG) license desirable; full training provided to obtain licencing.

Responsibilities

• Provide a 24/7 security service as part of an Operational Security Team.
• Engage with students, staff and visitors to maintain safety and reassurance.
• Monitor and respond to life safety alarms and incidents.
• Operate a modern 24/7 Security Control Room.
• Liaise with Emergency services when required.
• Promote crime reduction and personal safety across the campus.
