Job summary

Heart of Yorkshire Education Group is seeking a Security Officer for our Selby College campus. You will provide a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors, with duties including opening/closing, patrolling, and reporting issues.

The role requires SIA Licence, First Aid training (or willingness to train), and strong communication. You will monitor behaviour and uphold the college ethos in a calm, professional manner.

Qualifications

• Hold a valid SIA Licence.
• First Aid trained or willing to undertake training.
• Experience in front-line security preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Open and close campus securely at designated times.
• Undertake regular patrols and report security issues through proper channels.
• Monitor student behaviour, intervene when appropriate, and uphold college ethos.
• Assess and diffuse situations calmly in line with college policies.
