Yorkshire Education Group is seeking a Security Officer for Selby College campus. You will provide a safe, secure and welcoming environment for students, staff and visitors, with duties including opening/closing, patrols and incident reporting.

The role requires calm, professional handling of situations, good communication at all levels, and adherence to College policies and values. Benefits include generous leave and pension access.

Qualifications

• Front-line security experience required.
• SIA licence essential.
• First Aid trained or willing to undertake training.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Open/close campus and ensure security and alarms at scheduled times.
• Undertake regular patrols and report issues through the proper channels.
• Monitor student behaviour and diffuse situations per College policies.
• Promote a positive College ethos and report inappropriate behaviour.
• Communicate effectively with students, staff and visitors at all levels.
