Job summary

Aspire Recruitment is recruiting a Facilities Operative for a leading Manchester university campus. The role is based in Manchester City Centre, working Monday to Friday, 10am–6pm, with a requirement for a full UK driving licence to operate university vehicles between sites.

Temporary to permanent contract, offering a proactive, customer-focused FM service. Responsibilities include routine maintenance, portering, safety/compliance checks, grounds upkeep, waste management and handling parcels.

Qualifications

• Background in a customer-facing, hands-on estates or cleaning environment.
• Good communication and reliability.
• Ability to work to compliance and safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Maintenance and minor repairs around campus (sinks, lighting, furniture).
• Portering: move and deliver items and set up rooms for events or exams.
• Assist with waste management, cleaning and grounds upkeep.
• Open/lock campus buildings and sign in external contractors.
