Job summary

Sodexo, operating at the University of Greenwich, is seeking a proactive Porter to support facilities management on campus. You will help move furniture, set up spaces and assist with mail, deliveries and events to ensure a welcoming environment for students and staff.

The role requires a full UK driving licence and a flexible, customer-focused approach. You will work with a team to maintain safety and high standards across campus facilities.

Qualifications

• Experience in portering, facilities, logistics, housekeeping, hospitality, warehouse or customer service environment.
• Experience driving commercial vehicles, including Luton vans (desirable).
• Willingness to occasionally support outside normal working hours during emergencies or special events.

Responsibilities

• Moving furniture, equipment, materials and supplies safely and efficiently
• Supporting the delivery and collection of mail across campus
• Assisting with stock, equipment and supplier deliveries
• Setting up teaching spaces, meeting rooms and event venues
• Supporting university events with room preparations and resource deployment
• Maintaining cleanliness and presentation of designated internal and external areas
• Assisting with waste collection and removal activities
• Delivering excellent customer service to students, staff and visitors
• Working closely with colleagues across Sodexo and the University
• Following Health & Safety and COSHH procedures at all times
• Supporting the wider Facilities team with additional duties when required
