Job summary

Shaftesbury Education is seeking an Estates Operative to join a busy maintenance team on our SEN campus. You will handle reactive, proactive and planned maintenance across school buildings, ensuring safety, compliance and a supportive environment for pupils with special needs.

You will collaborate with staff and volunteers, perform minor electrical, carpentry and decorating tasks, and help improve learning spaces while maintaining high standards of workmanship and care for everyone on site.

Qualifications

• Enthusiastic, self-motivated and empathetic individuals with a genuine passion for student welfare.
• Calm and adaptable approach, able to follow instructions and manage multiple priorities.
• Experience working within the maintenance department of either an educational setting or large buildings.
• Commitment to safety and compliance.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team of staff and volunteers.
• A desire to deliver high-quality workmanship at all times.

Responsibilities

• Reactive, proactive and planned maintenance activities across the campus.
• Record compliance checks for Legionella, fire safety and routine alarms.
• Rectify any compliance failures and ensure licensing regulations are met.
• Support inspections and audits to maintain high standards across the provision.
