Job summary

RNN Group is seeking a dedicated Caretaker and Estates Operative to ensure all campus buildings are accessible, secure, clean and ready for use by students and staff. The role supports safety, room setup, waste removal and parcel delivery across multiple sites.

You will work a rota covering mornings and afternoons, be part of the Estates and Facilities Management Team, and contribute to a welcoming campus environment with a focus on safety and practical upkeep.

Qualifications

• Experience in maintenance or caretaking roles.
• Level 2 English and Maths or willingness to train.
• Ability to work shifts.

Responsibilities

• Open and secure college premises during shifts.
• Maintain cleanliness of buildings and grounds; remove refuse.
• Keep corridors and fire exits clear of hazards.
• Prepare rooms for curriculum use or meetings.
• Deliver mail and parcels within campus and between buildings.
• Support risk assessments and pre-planned maintenance.
• Assist in first aid when required; report to Estates team.
• Respond to emergencies and lift breakdowns as needed.
