Job summary

RNN Group is seeking a Caretaker and Estates Operative at Rotherham College to maintain a safe, clean and welcoming campus. You’ll be part of the Estates team, covering shifts and ensuring buildings are open, secure and ready for use by students and staff.

The role requires prior caretaking or maintenance experience, plus Level 2 English and Maths (or willingness to obtain). A permanent, full-time position with shift patterns in mornings and afternoons is offered, along with an attractive

Qualifications

• Prior experience in a maintenance/security/caretaking role or similar.
• Level 2 English and Maths (or willing to work towards).

Responsibilities

• Attend shift rota to ensure Estates presence on all campuses when buildings are open and secure premises during the day.
• Assist in keeping college buildings and grounds clean by removing refuse and emptying bins.
• Promote health and safety by keeping corridors and fire exits clear of spills or hazards.
• Prepare rooms for use and set up spaces for curriculum areas or meetings; assist with staff moves or furniture rearrangement.
• Deliver mail, parcels and goods to correct areas to support campus operations.
• Assist with routine maintenance, repairs and suggested improvements for safety and upkeep.
• Respond to emergencies including evacuations and lift breakdowns and provide first aid when required.
