Job summary

RNN Group is seeking a Caretaker and Estates Operative at Rotherham College. The role ensures buildings are accessible, safe and well-maintained for students, staff and visitors.

You will be involved in opening premises, securing sites, cleaning, moving furniture and assisting with room setups across campus. The position requires experience in maintenance/security/caretaking, with a Level 2 English and Maths qualification (or willingness to pursue).

Qualifications

• Experience in maintenance/security/caretaking roles, ideally in education.
• Level 2 English and Maths (or willing to work towards).

Responsibilities

• Open and secure college premises on shift rota; keep premises and equipment secure.
• Assist with cleaning and grounds maintenance; empty bins and remove refuse.
• Keep corridors and fire exits clear; report hazards and spills.
• Prepare rooms for curriculum use and staff meetings, assist with moves.
• Deliver mail, parcels and documents to correct areas across campus.
• Suggest improvements to environment and support pre-planned maintenance.
• Respond to emergencies including evacuations and lift breakdowns; assist First Aid.
