Job summary

RNN Group in Dearne Valley College, Rotherham, seeks a Caretaker and Estates Operative. This permanent, full-time role (37 hours/week) covers opening, security and upkeep of campus facilities to ensure a safe, welcoming environment for students and staff.

Responsibilities include routine maintenance, cleanliness, room setup, post/delivery handling, and supporting emergency procedures. Prior estates experience is preferred; Level 2 English & Maths or progression is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in a maintenance/security/caretaking role, preferably in education.
• Ability to contribute to safe, clean campus operations and rooms preparation.

Responsibilities

• Open/secure premises as part of shift rota and maintain security during the day.
• Assist with cleaning, refuse removal, and campus grounds upkeep.
• Prepare rooms for curriculum use and staff meetings, move furniture as needed.
• Help with deliveries and post distribution, and support risk assessments.
