Job summary

Morgan Hunt is recruiting for a Caretaker vacancy to work with a FE College based in Essex/East London on a temporary basis. The role is 37 hours per week on a 3-shift pattern (06.30am-14.30pm / 11am-7pm / 2.30pm-10.30pm) with DBS required.

The ideal candidate will maintain cleanliness, security and safety of premises and assist in estates maintenance across all college sites. Applicants should have GCSE C/5 or equivalent and COSHH awareness, plus practical building trades experience.

Qualifications

• Educated up to GCSE Grade C/5 or equivalent.
• Awareness of COSHH regulations.
• Experience of building trades and practical experience.
• Good organisational skills and ability to adapt to changing workload demands.
• Ability to understand verbal and written instructions.
• Knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and standards.

Responsibilities

• Operate on a 3-shift pattern: 06.30–14.30, 11:00–19:00, 14.30–22:30.
• Early shift is onsite at 6:30am to ready the building.
• Porterage, minor painting/decorating, carpet tiling, room reconfigurations.
• Estates helpdesk; manage helpdesk tickets and emailing communications.
• Set intruder alarms across the campus for nightly lock up, ensuring security.
• Log and report breakages or damage and carry out repairs safely.
• Carry out routine administrative tasks as required.
