Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:-18:00 (flexibility may be considered) Job Description:We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Band 7 CAMHS Nurse to join a well-established Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) team based in Aylesbury. This is a rewarding long-term locum opportunity for a mental health nurse with specialist skills in working with children and adolescents facing complex emotional and psychological challenges.You will play a key role in assessment, triage, care planning, and intervention for young people presenting with a range of mental health conditions, including eating disorders, ASC (Autistic Spectrum Conditions), and those under CPA frameworks. Key Responsibilities:- Conduct mental health triage and comprehensive assessments of children and adolescents.
- Develop and implement effective care plans under the Care Programme Approach (CPA).
- Provide specialist support in areas such as eating disorders, ASC, and safeguarding.
- Collaborate with social care, education, families, and multi-agency teams to deliver integrated care.
- Monitor progress, manage risk, and review outcomes to ensure safe, high-quality service delivery.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in line with NHS and local trust policies.
Essential Skills & Experience:- NMC registration (Mental Health Nursing – RMN).
- Proven experience in CAMHS settings at Band 6 or 7 level.
- Sound understanding of Care Programme Approach (CPA).
- Expertise in mental health triage, eating disorders, ASC, and adolescent social care provision.
- Strong risk assessment, care planning, and safeguarding knowledge.
- Excellent communication and inter-agency working skills.
