AWD online in Hedge End, Southampton, is seeking a Teaching Assistant to support students with additional needs. You will provide learning support across curriculum subjects, helping pupils participate and become more independent learners.

No previous experience required; graduates considering teaching are welcome as a stepping stone. DBS check is required; 29.5 hours per week, term-time only. Salary listed below with benefits.

Formación

• Enthusiastic, calm and genuinely interested in working with students with additional needs.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work with teaching and non-teaching staff.
• Able to communicate well verbally.
• Good numeracy and literacy skills.
• Able to work flexibly and independently.
• Able to build supportive relationships and encourage confidence.
• Classroom experience would be an advantage.

Responsabilidades

• Provide classroom and curriculum support across subjects.
• Deliver directed catch-up sessions and support individuals or small groups.
• Motivate students and promote independence and concentration.
• Support language, behaviour, reading, spelling and handwriting needs.
• Maintain student progress records and assist reviews and programmes.
• Develop appropriate learning support programmes with teachers.
• Create a safe, inclusive learning environment and uphold standards.
• Follow safeguarding procedures and work with the Learning Support team.
