AWD Online is seeking a Learning Support Assistant / Teaching Assistant for an inclusive primary school in Hedge End, Southampton. The role provides one-to-one support to a pupil with SEND and works with teachers and the SENDCO to implement learning plans and monitor progress.

It is 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday, term-time only, with training and a collaborative team environment. The position emphasizes safeguarding, confidentiality and flexibility between SEN support and classroom tasks,

Qualifikationen

• Child-centred approach to support pupils with SEND.
• Experience supporting children with social or communication difficulties.
• Ability to use non-verbal communication strategies.
• Calm, firm and adaptable; motivate and engage pupils.

Aufgaben

• Provide individual and group support to pupils and help complete activities.
• Implement lesson plans and track progress against learning programmes.
• Support behaviour and SEND needs with teachers and provision lead.
• Apply curriculum policies in day-to-day work.
• Collaborate with SENDCO and outside agencies while keeping confidentiality.
• Follow safeguarding and health & safety procedures to keep pupils safe.
• Attend training and adapt between SEN and class support as needed.
