Job summary

Academics invites applications for a Secondary Teaching Assistant in Crewe to support the Reflection Room and students with behavioural and emotional needs. This full-time role starts ASAP until Christmas, offering a hands-on, supportive environment within a busy school setting.

You will work with KS3 and KS4 pupils, modelling calm behaviour, building relationships and helping pupils regulate emotions. Experience in education and an Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one) are preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young people, ideally in a school, SEN, pastoral or behavioural setting.
• Calm, patient, resilient and confident managing challenging behaviour.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• A genuine passion for supporting young people.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).

Responsibilities

• Support KS3 and KS4 students with behavioural, emotional and pastoral needs.
• Provide a calm and structured environment for students to reflect and reset.
• Build positive relationships while maintaining clear boundaries and expectations.
• Support students to regulate their emotions and make positive choices.
• Use effective behaviour management and de-escalation strategies.
