Job summary

Academics is working with a supportive secondary school in Crewe, Cheshire East, seeking a Teaching Assistant to support KS3/KS4 with behavioural, emotional and pastoral needs. This full-time role starts ASAP until Christmas.

You will help create a calm, structured environment for reflection and build positive relationships while maintaining clear boundaries and expectations. A pathway into teaching may develop over time.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young people in school, SEN, pastoral or behavioural settings.
• Calm, patient, resilient and confident managing challenging behaviour.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply.

Responsibilities

• Supporting KS3 and KS4 students with behavioural, emotional and pastoral needs.
• Providing a calm and structured environment for students to reflect and reset.
• Building positive relationships while maintaining clear boundaries and expectations.
• Supporting students to regulate their emotions and make positive choices.
• Using effective behaviour management and de-escalation strategies.
