Job summary

Lift New Rickstones is seeking an organised Exam Invigilator to help run examinations smoothly. You will prepare rooms, check candidate identities, distribute papers and explain procedures under the direction of the Exams Officer.

During exams you will supervise candidates, maintain calm, follow regulations and report incidents. The role is casual, with hours offered as needed, and a strong focus on safeguarding and student welfare.

Qualifications

• Experience of managing large groups of people.
• Good literacy and communication; ability to give clear instructions.
• Ability to follow schedules and deadlines and use initiative within procedures.
• Calm, patient and resilient approach, especially in unexpected situations.
• Strong teamwork, professionalism and safeguarding awareness.
• GCSE Maths and English at Grade 4 or equivalent; experience with children/education is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Prepare examination rooms in line with seating plans and exam requirements.
• Check candidate identity and attendance; distribute papers and materials.
• Give clear instructions to candidates and ensure exam regulations are followed.
• Supervise candidates during examinations, maintain a calm and secure environment.
• Respond to queries, disruptions and emergencies and report incidents.
• Collect examination papers and materials and help restore the venue after exams.
