Job summary

Protocol Education is working with two welcoming primary schools in the BS31 area to recruit a dedicated Behaviour Support Assistant from October through to the end of the academic year. The role focuses on supporting pupils with emotional regulation, behaviour and engagement, in a calm and nurturing manner.

You will work closely with teachers and SEND professionals, providing one-to-one support and small group interventions, while helping pupils feel safe, valued and ready to learn.

Qualifications

• Calm, patient and nurturing; able to support children with consistency and understanding.
• Experienced or confident working with children who may display challenging behaviour or require additional emotional support.
• Friendly, approachable and able to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and families.
• Comfortable delivering one-to-one support and small group interventions.
• Understanding of SEND and able to adapt your approach to meet individual needs.
• Resilient, reliable and able to remain positive in challenging situations.
• Passionate about helping children develop confidence, independence and a positive attitude towards learning.
