Job summary

Protocol Education is recruiting a Behaviour Support Assistant for Swindon to support pupils with SEN/SEMH in a calm, supportive setting. You will provide direct behaviour support, help pupils engage with learning, assist staff with consistent approaches, and build positive relationships with pupils, families and colleagues to remove barriers to learning.

Qualifications

• Experience or strong interest in working with children and young people.
• Calm under pressure and apply behaviour management strategies consistently.
• Confident communicator with a warm, supportive manner.
• Team‑oriented mindset and commitment to pupil wellbeing and progress.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct behaviour support to pupils and help them engage with learning.
• Support staff to maintain consistent behaviour expectations and approaches across the school.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues to remove barriers to learning.
• Take a proactive approach to de-escalation and restorative practice.
• Help implement behaviour systems and strategies to promote respect, resilience and safety.
