Job summary

Otis is seeking an experienced escalator call-out and repair engineer to join the Transport for London team, covering the London Underground escalator portfolio. Your role is to ensure passenger safety while maintaining a portfolio of escalator units.

Your typical day involves breakdown and repair work, on-site liaison with customers, and striving for first-time fixes while supporting 4 on 4 off, 12-hour shifts with a competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Escalator Engineering.
• Experience in service and maintenance of escalators.
• Valid UK driving licence.
• Willingness to work overtime.
• Strong mechanical and electrical engineering knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Carry out breakdown and repair work on escalators to keep operations running.
• Work within the London Underground network managing the portfolio.
• Respond quickly to breakdowns with aim of first-time fix.
• Liaise with customers on site to build good relationships.

Title: Service Call out Engineer - Escalators

Location: London

Role Overview

We are currently seeking an experienced escalator call out and repair engineer to join our Transport for London team, covering our London Underground escalator portfolio. Your priority is to ensure the safety of passengers and technical stakeholders by safely maintaining a portfolio of escalator units.

On a typical day you will:

• Carry out breakdown and repair work on all escalators within the portfolio to achieve continual operation
• Work within London Underground network, managing the portfolio of escalator's within it
• Respond proactively and quickly to fix any breakdowns, aiming to achieve first time fix
• Liaise directly with the customer while on site to build a good working relationship

What you will need to be successful

• You will be qualified to at least NVQ Level 3 in Escalator Engineering with significant experience in service and maintenance of escalators
• You must be an experienced escalator engineer with in-depth knowledge of a variety of different brands of equipment
• Hold a valid UK drivers license
• Flexibility is important and overtime maybe required
• You have good skills in mechanical and electrical engineering
• You are a committed professional, with safety as your priority
• You are comfortable communicating to others
• You are curious, adaptable, and you know how to work alone or in a team
• You are comfortable using electronic and digital tools.
