Job summary

Otis are recruiting for an experienced escalator call-out and repair engineer to join our Transport for London team, covering the London Underground portfolio. Your priority is to ensure passenger safety while maintaining escalator units.

On a typical day you will carry out breakdowns, repair work, and liaise with customers on-site to ensure first-time fixes and smooth operations.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Escalator Engineering with significant service/maintenance experience.
• Experience with a variety of escalator brands.
• Valid UK driving licence.
• Flexible with overtime requirements.
• Strong mechanical and electrical engineering skills.
• Safety-focused professional with a priority on safety.

Responsibilities

• Carry out breakdown and repair work on escalators in the portfolio to keep operations running.
• Work within the London Underground network, managing escalator portfolios there.
• Respond quickly to breakdowns with a aim of first-time fixes.
• On-site liaison with customers to build good working relationships.

Title: Call Out Engineer

Shift Pattern: Sunday - Thursday 23:00 - 07:00

Role Overview

We are currently seeking an experienced escalator call out and repair engineer to join our Transport for London team, covering our London Underground escalator portfolio. Your priority is to ensure the safety of passengers and technical stakeholders by safely maintaining a portfolio of escalator units.

On a typical day you will:

• Carry out breakdown and repair work on all escalators within the portfolio to achieve continual operation
• Work within London Underground network, managing the portfolio of escalator's within it
• Respond proactively and quickly to fix any breakdowns, aiming to achieve first time fix
• Liaise directly with the customer while on site to build a good working relationship

What you will need to be successful

• You will be qualified to at least NVQ Level 3 in Escalator Engineering with significant experience in service and maintenance of escalators
• You must be an experienced escalator engineer with in-depth knowledge of a variety of different brands of equipment
• Hold a valid UK drivers license
• Flexibility is important and overtime maybe required
• You have good skills in mechanical and electrical engineering
• You are a committed professional, with safety as your priority
• You are comfortable communicating to others
• You are curious, adaptable, and you know how to work alone or in a team
• You are comfortable using electronic and digital tools.
